Testing

So, today was testing and our group....we did well. We came in 3rd place. We had 3 runs. On the first test run, our vehicle travelled upto 24 floor tiles and then started rolling back! It went down to about 18 floor tiles. Our second and third test run was more succesful, 24 and then 26 floor tiles.  The group that had the vehicle travel the farthest, they're vehicle travelled about 46 floor tiles. Almost double how far ours went.

This is going to be our group's last post. Our project is now officially over. Goodbye and thank you for checking out Can't Catch Us. :)

Due Monday

So, on Thursday it was announced that the project was going to be due on the 28th, which is basically this Monday. Our group barely did anything on Monday because all the girls were getting their HIV shots and we missed almost all of class. On Friday though, we finished almost everything (including our trasmission-YAY!) and now all we have to do is glue our string to the transission and get our back wheels and then just finish filling out this sheet which has all the measurements of our vehicle. I'm hoping we can finish this during homeroom though. Monday, we're all going to be racing our Mousetrap Cars to see whose will go the farthest. Wish us luck!

Got...Something Done

If I hadn't mentioned it before, I guess I am mentioning to now. Last class, somebody either stole or lost our CD's. We came to class and neither of our members knew where it was. Right now, we've just assumed that it's been stolen and 2 of our members were absent (AGAIN) today. We were able to find 2 new CD's and we cut ourselves a new base and decided to keep the jinx wood that we'd cut before. We're being told to start working on our transmission. We get to work/start on our transmission as soon as we answer 10 questions. We even got a new mouse trap to replace the one that was broken. We haven't done much, but I'm hoping we'll get much more done in the next few classes.

Back On Track

Yesterday, one of our group members was absent but we still managed to get some work done. We cut another 2 pieces of Jinx Wood and a member from every group was shown how to make a transmission.

Backwards

Today wasn't a very good day for our group. One of our members was playing with the mouse trap and ended up breaking it as well as they forgot to bring the 2 CD's we needed as our back wheels. Another member tried to drill holes in our jinx wood but ended up cracking it. All we did today was go backwards. Not a very good day for our group but hopefully, next week will be much better.

Doing Good

So, today we glued some pieces of jinx wood to the under side of the base for some support and we even got the dowel for our wheels. We planned out what we were going to do for the next few classes as wheel. One of our member will bring CD's for our front wheels and we're going to cut and make our back wheels along with our pulley. We started discussing the possibilities for our arm but haven't decided on one yet.

Building

Today we started building our base for the car. We cut the old election signs for our base and next class, we'll probably glue some jinx wood onto the back for more support. After that, we'll start making the wheels for the car. Our teacher announced that the project is set to be due sometime in February.

Beginning

We finished our design over the weekend and today after fixing a few mistakes, we got our rough draft signed and starting next class, we'll be ready to begin.

Bonus

So today we discussed this project as a class and the different aspects involved in this project.
We worked a bit on the sketch although we are still a bit confused on how the mouse trap is supposed to work. Mr.Smith announced that any groups that finished their project by the 28th of January would recieve bonus points. I hope we finish by then but I doubt it. We're going to use this long weekend to catch up with everyone else and try and figure it all out.

First Day

So, today was the day that we began working on our brand new design and technology project. Although we had an entire class to work on it, we haven't finished the design of the mousetrap car yet. Hopefully, we'll be done our design by next week and be ready to start building soon.
