We have been assigned to design a mousetrap powered car that can travel the greatest horizontal distance possible for our design and technology class. Our group consists of 4 people and is aiming to have the car that travels the farthest distance. There are many factors that we will have to think about when designing the car in order to have the mousetrap powered car to travel a great distance if not move at all.
We want to have as little weight as possible so that way, our vehicle doesn't have too much weight to pull along. We want our back wheels to be large because the larger the wheels the greater distance the car is going to travel but we have to remember that we're trying to have as little mass as possible as well. We're going to need a light-weight lever arm and we want to create traction with the wheels so the vehicle doesn't skid into different directions.
Our project has been scheduled to be due sometime in February.
